Because It’s Hard to Not Know

All day I imagine my love is a great ocean that lifts you on a warm and gentle tide so all you need to do today is float. Float and let yourself be carried. Float and know that in this hour nothing need be done. Perhaps if you are still today, even for moment, you can feel the way these distant waves are near as your own sweet treat. The weight of all that scares you doesn’t change. I know. I imagine I lift that, too. Lift it all until you are certain no matter how much things change, you are not alone.

Somatic Psychotherapy

The way I work is from a somatic (body) based approach utilizing the Hakomi method, ancient wisdom traditions, compassion focused therapy, current neuroscience, and my own human journey. I also employ relational, epigenetic and behavior sciences and styles of attachment. Through different somatic techniques and practices clients are able to notice their own basic goodness and brilliant sanity from an embodied state.

The central idea is that the experiences that you are having day to day, the thing that has you reaching out for therapy, have roots in decisions that you made earlier in life. We made these early survival adaptations that were all deeply intelligent, however are now constrictive and limiting.

For some of us there was so little of the type of reflection and needs being met that we pulled into ourselves instead of reaching out because it wasn’t available. We’ll be paying attention moment to moment with curiosity to how this shows up in the body, emotions, feelings, thoughts, behaviors, as 95% of what's happening lives as unconscious material.

When we are able to slow down together and bring awareness to these automatic ways, we can then start to see new possibilities and make different choices. This supportive and guided self discovery welcomes and allows for a deeper understanding of your strengths and struggles. With greater awareness and curiosity, we are more alive and integrated in our way of being. I look forward to supporting you.

This is for :

  • Those that feel that something is missing from their lives, felt as a longing, yearning, aching.

  • Those that find themselves stuck in some way, experiencing the same patterns, the thing that has you reaching out here that is likely rooted in adaptive early conditioning.

  • Those that want to experience more joy and play.

  • Those that want to know their inner truth and live in integrity from this place.

  • Those who wish to see the sacredness in all of life and live life like a ceremony.
